River Oaks is a city in the U.S. state of Texas within the Houston–The Woodlands-Sugar Land metropolitan area and Harris County.
The population was 7,753 at the 2020 census. It occupies 4 square miles (10 km²) and has one recreation center.
River Oaks is bordered by:
- Westheimer Road on the north
- Shepherd Drive / Buffalo Bayou Tributary on the south
- South Rice Avenue on the east
- South Shepherd Drive on the west
